Visit of School Supervisors from the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong to Macao
Joint Dialogue on School Governance and Walking Together as
“Pilgrims of Hope” in the Jubilee Year

為加強港澳兩地教區在天主教教育事工上的恆常交流合作,並響應天主教會禧年「希望的朝聖者」主題,澳門教區天主教教育委員會於二零二五年十二月五日(星期五)接待了由天主教香港教區教育事務處組織、共二十八名教區屬校校監及教育人員組成的訪澳代表團。是次訪澳旨在交流校政管理經驗、深化對天主教教育使命的理解,並透過朝聖體驗加強兩地在信仰與教育上的連繫。
To strengthen ongoing collaboration between the Dioceses of Hong Kong and Macao in the mission of Catholic education, and in response to the Church’s Jubilee theme “Pilgrims of Hope”, the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission of Macao received on Friday, 5 December 2025, a delegation of twenty-eight school supervisors and education personnel organised by the Catholic Education Office of the Diocese of Hong Kong. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in school governance, deepen understanding of the mission of Catholic education, and, through a pilgrimage experience, enhance the spiritual and educational ties between the two regions.

上午香港代表團抵達澳門後,先到訪了澳門聖保祿學校,獲澳門教區天主教教育委員會主任陳庭鋒博士、校長陳信望神父與及學校管理層歡迎。適逢該校於當天舉辦幼稚園遊戲日活動,代表團先觀察幼稚園K1到K3的學生進行多項競賽遊戲,更為學生們歡呼打氣。
Upon their arrival in Macao that morning, the Hong Kong delegation proceeded directly to Saint Paul School Macau (Escola São Paulo), where they were welcomed by Dr. Stephen Chan Teng Fong, Director of the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission, together with the Principal, Fr. Athanasius Chen Xin Wang, and members of the school’s leadership team. As the visit coincided with the school’s Kindergarten Games Day, the delegation first observed K1 to K3 children taking part in a range of lively competitive games, offering their applause and warm encouragement to the young participants.




校方接著向代表團介紹其辦學理念、校政運作以及近年推動天主教氛圍的實踐方式,並展示校園內有關宗教培育與學生全人成長的具體措施。雙方亦就天主教價值教育的推動策略、家校合作、校政管理挑戰及學校培育方向進行了深入交流。代表團成員均認為今次參訪讓彼此得以比較兩地天主教學校的發展特色,收穫甚豐。

The school then introduced its educational vision, governance practices, and recent initiatives for strengthening Catholic ethos on campus, and showcased concrete measures relating to religious formation and the holistic development of students. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussion on strategies for promoting Catholic values education, home–school collaboration, challenges in school governance, and future directions for school development. Members of the delegation agreed that the visit enabled a fruitful comparison of the characteristics of Catholic schools in both regions.

其後,澳門教區天主教教育委員會於海灣餐廳設宴招待代表團。席間陳庭鋒博士先感謝教育事務主教代表龔廣培先生組團訪澳,雙方更就近年兩地天主教教育發展狀況與可互相借鑒措施進行交流。
The Diocesan Catholic Education Commission of Macao later hosted a luncheon for the delegation at Restaurante Litoral. During the meal, Dr Stephen Chan expressed appreciation to Mr Joseph Kung Kwong Pui, Episcopal Delegate for Education, for organising the visit to Macao. And they also seized the chance to exchange with updates on the latest local status quo of Catholic education as well as practices that might be of reference to the other party.

各席間的話題涵蓋兩地辦學政策的差異、學生人數下降的具體挑戰、教區持續提升天主教學校教育質量的策略、跨校合作與資源共享的推動、學校價值與生命教育的未來展望等。
Exchanged views in each table included differences in education policies between the two places, the difficulties and challenges currently faced in the development of Catholic education, including the concrete issue of declining student numbers, strategies for continuously enhancing the quality of Catholic schooling, the promotion of inter-school collaboration and resource sharing, and future directions for values and life education in schools etc..

午宴亦為兩地的學校決策者提供輕鬆的交流平台,分享寶貴經驗,共同探討天主教教育的使命如何在當代社會中持續深化。
The luncheon provided a relaxed platform for decision-makers from both regions to share valuable experience and explore how the mission of Catholic education may continue to deepen in contemporary society.


代表團下午的朝聖行程有來自香港的陳柏霖神父加入,帶領眾校監走進澳門的信仰歷史脈絡,到訪了澳門教區指定的兩個禧年朝聖地點:聖若瑟修院聖堂及主教山海崖聖母小堂。朝聖導賞分別介紹了兩座教堂的歷史背景、建築特色、靈修意義及其在澳門天主教傳教史上的地位。
The afternoon pilgrimage saw the joining of Fr. Bosco Chan who was from Hong Kong, the school supervisors were led into the heritage of the Catholic faith in Macao, with visits to the two Jubilee pilgrimage sites designated by the Diocese of Macao: the Church of St. Joseph’s Seminary and the Chapel of Our Lady of Penha. The pilgrimage tour guide introduced the historical background, architectural features, spiritual significance, and the role of the two churches in the history of Catholic evangelisation in Macao.

代表團在祈禱與默想中反思天主教教育的核心使命,重新體會作為「希望的朝聖者」於信仰道路上的召叫與責任。
The delegation reflected upon the core mission of Catholic education through prayer and contemplation, rediscovering the call and responsibility of being “Pilgrims of Hope” on the journey of faith.



澳門教區天主教教育委員會對是次香港教區代表團的來訪表示誠摯歡迎及感謝,亦透露未來將持續與香港教區教育事務處建立更緊密的協作平台,共同回應天主教教育在新時代所面臨的挑戰,為培育具信仰根基、具使命精神的新一代而攜手努力。
The Diocesan Catholic Education Commission of Macao warmly welcomed the delegation from Hong Kong and expressed gratitude for their visit. The Commission also shared that it will continue to establish closer collaboration mechanisms with the Catholic Education Office of Hong Kong, in order to jointly respond to new challenges faced by Catholic education today and to work together in forming a new generation with firm faith foundations and a strong sense of mission.
