Celebrates the 450th Anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Macau

慶祝天主教澳門教區成立450週年而舉辦的「天主教學校教職員男女混合排球友誼賽」先後分兩週進行，最終的決勝賽亦已於二零二六年一月三十一日（星期六）在聖若瑟教區中學第六校室內體育館完滿結束。
As one of the celebrations marking the 450th anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Macau, the Mixed-Gender Volleyball Friendly Match for Staff Members of Catholic Schools was held over two consecutive weeks, with the final and decisive matches successfully concluded on 31 January 2026 (Saturday) at the Indoor Sports Hall of C.D.S.J.6.
賽事由天主教澳門教區與天主教學校聯會共同主辦，並由教區天主教教育委員會承辦，共有來自全澳十二所天主教學校的教職員工組成隊伍參賽，包括：聖羅撒英文中學、聖羅撒女子中學中文部、聖德蘭學校、利瑪竇中學、聖若瑟教區中學第六校、聖若瑟教區中學第五校、明愛學校、化地瑪聖母女子學校、聖瑪大肋納學校、聖若瑟教區中學、聖家學校及嘉諾撒聖心中學。
The event was jointly organised by the Catholic Diocese of Macau and the Macao Catholic Schools Association (M.C.S.A.), with full responsibility for planning and execution assumed by the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission (Comissão Diocesana da Educação Católica, C.D.E.C.). A total of twelve teams, formed by teaching and non-teaching staff from Catholic schools across Macau, took part in the competition, including: Colégio de Santa Rosa de Lima (English Section), Colégio de Santa Rosa de Lima (Chinese Section), Escola de Santa Teresa do Menino Jesus, Colégio Mateus Ricci, Colégio Diocesano de São José Sexta Escola (C.D.S.J.6), Colégio Diocesano de São José Quinto Edifício (C.D.S.J.5), Escola Cáritas de Macau, Escola Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Escola de Santa Madalena, Colégio Diocesano de São José (C.D.S.J.), Escola da Sagrada Família (E.D.S.F.), and Colégio do Sagrado Coração de Jesus.

籌辦是次活動一方面為紀念教區踏入重要的里程碑，另一方面亦為促進天主教學校人員間的交流與團結，讓各校的參與人員以體育會友，發揮團隊合作及互助之精神。
The organisation of this event served not only to commemorate an important milestone in the history of the Diocese, but also to foster interaction and unity among members of Catholic Schools. Through sporting participation, colleagues from different schools were brought together in friendship, exemplifying the spirit of teamwork, mutual support, and fellowship through sport.
正如李斌生主教在開幕致辭中所強調，這是教區進入450週年慶年後的首個大眾活動，他勉勵大家：「體育可以強身健體、磨鍊鬥志，對成就全人教育有著重要的作用」。主教進一步指出：「無論是體育競賽、教育事業，還是我們的人生旅程，都需要有堅定的目標，透過自律與努力不懈的堅持，一直奮鬥。如同天主教會在澳門開教時的初心，一直走過450年的日子。」他以此激勵所有教職員工，無論在球場上還是日常工作中，都要懷抱上進心，勇於挑戰自我、超越極限，以堅韌不拔的精神追求卓越。
As emphasised by The Most Reverend Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-Sang in his opening address, this event was the first public one held after the Diocese formally entered its 450th anniversary celebratory year. Bishop Lee encouraged participants by stating that “sport strengthens the body and hones one’s will, and plays an important role in achieving holistic education.” He further remarked that “whether in sports competitions, educational endeavours, or our journey through life, we all require clear goals, self-discipline, and perseverance. This mirrors the original mission of the Catholic Church in Macau, which has endured and advanced over the past 450 years.” Through these words, he encouraged all teaching and non-teaching staff to maintain a spirit of self-improvement both on the court and in daily work, to embrace challenges, strive beyond personal limits, and pursue excellence with resilience and determination.
活動設有分組賽及四強總決賽兩個階段、採用31分一局決勝制。首階段的分組賽事於教區正式踏入成立450週年的首週按抽籤結果順序進行，十二支隊伍經激烈角逐，透過多場勢均力敵的比賽，產生出四強名單。場上球員揮灑汗水、默契配合，展現高昂士氣與精湛球技；場下觀賽同工及學生熱烈打氣，現場氣氛熱烈而溫馨，為教區一系列的慶祝活動拉開精彩序幕。
The competition comprised two stages: a group stage and a final four knockout stage, with matches played under a single-set, 31-point deciding format in the initial phase. The group matches were held during the first week of the Diocese’s 450th anniversary celebrations, with fixtures arranged by draw. Following a series of closely contested and evenly matched games, four teams advanced to the semi-finals. On the court, players demonstrated strong morale, close co-ordination, and impressive technical skills, while off the court, colleagues and students offered enthusiastic support. The lively yet warm atmosphere marked a vibrant opening to the Diocese’s series of anniversary celebrations.

最終階段的四強賽、季軍賽及冠軍賽於一月三十一日舉行，四強賽採用三局兩勝制，充分體現公平競爭與團隊合作精神。各參賽隊伍延續分組賽佳績，再次呈獻精彩對壘。球員們全力以赴、互相鼓勵，透過緊湊而刺激的比賽，決出最終名次。整項賽事不僅彰顯教職員的活力與團結，更為教區慶祝活動增添運動元素與難忘回憶及喜悅。
The final stage, comprising the semi-finals, third-place play-off, and championship match, was held on 31 January. The semi-finals adopted a best-of-three format, fully reflecting the principles of fair competition and teamwork. Building on their strong performances in the group stage, the teams once again delivered thrilling encounters. Through intense and fast-paced matches, the final rankings were determined, with players giving their all and encouraging one another throughout. The matches not only highlighted the vitality and unity of Catholic school staff, but also added a memorable sporting dimension to the Diocese’s anniversary celebrations.
冠軍、亞軍、季軍及殿軍隊伍隨賽事於一月三十一日下午圓滿結束而順利誕生，冠軍為聖若瑟教區中學第五校、亞軍為聖若瑟教區中學第六校、季軍為聖羅撒女子中學中文部、殿軍為利瑪竇中學。
With the successful conclusion of the competition on the afternoon of 31 January, the Champion, Runner-up, Third Place, and Fourth Place teams were confirmed, with the Champion being Colégio Diocesano de São José Quinto Edifício (C.D.S.J.5), the Runner-up Colégio Diocesano de São José Sexta Escola (C.D.S.J.6), Third Place Colégio de Santa Rosa de Lima (Chinese Section), and Fourth Place Colégio Mateus Ricci.

Following the matches, all participants, referees, staff members, and guests proceeded to Restaurante Beautiful World in the Centro Comercial Jardim da Cidade for the prize presentation ceremony and celebration dinner, where they shared in the joy of the occasion and extended their best wishes for the 450th anniversary of the Diocese.

是次活動總參與人數逾百名，各隊均傾力備戰，以運動的方式見證信仰與團結。活動不僅讓教職員工在繁忙工作之餘放鬆身心，更透過體育傳遞健康積極的生活態度，彰顯天主教學校大家庭的強大凝聚力。
The event attracted over one hundred participants in total, with each team preparing wholeheartedly for the competition. Through sport, participants bore witness to faith and unity. The matches provided an opportunity for staff members to relax and recharge amid their busy schedules, while also promoting a healthy and positive lifestyle, and demonstrating the strong sense of cohesion within the Catholic school family.
主辦單位感謝所有參賽隊伍、裁判、工作人員及各界支持人士的付出，特別鳴謝澳門排球總會提供專業裁判支援，以及天悅建築設計工作室有限公司、澳門可口可樂有限公司及澳門體育星協會的慷慨支持。期待未來繼續以不同形式，為本地天主教教育事業與發展增添更多光彩。
