備受尊敬的教育家陳既詒博士於二零二四年八月二十八日凌晨時分安祥離世，享年耄耋。他為澳門的教育事業奉獻了超過七十載的光輝歲月，他是一位真正關愛學生、心繫澳門的偉大教育家，其敬業精神和教育理念深深影響了多代澳門人。
陳既詒博士一生不僅在教學崗位上兢兢業業，更為天主教澳門教區的教育事業帶來了深遠的影響。他引領並推動了聖若瑟教區中學的成長，為教區學校的整體發展提出了諸多寶貴的意見，成就斐然，其貢獻及影響深遠且廣泛。
他在1993年及2003年先後獲澳門政府頒授《教育專業功績勳章》及《教育功績勳章》，並於2022年榮獲聖若瑟大學頒授的教育學榮譽博士學位，以表彰他對教育事業的畢生奉獻，種種殊榮無不見證他對教育事業的熱忱與成就。
陳博士的一生是奉獻的一生，是智慧的一生，更是激勵後人的一生。他以身作則，踐行終身學習的理念，即使在古稀之年仍不斷追求新知，率領教師們學習先進教育理念。他用科學的工作方法研究課程設置、教學改革等相關事務，為澳門教育的現代化做出了不可磨滅的貢獻。
教區天主教教育委員會全體委員及辦事處人員、天主教澳門教區直屬學校校董會、學校領導及全體師生將永遠懷念陳既詒博士，願他的教育理念、他的處世智慧、他的人格魅力將永遠活在我們心中，願他的教育精神與無私奉獻繼續激勵我們前行，求主讓我們繼承他的遺志，為澳門教育事業的繼續發展而努力奮鬥。
In Memory of Dr. Chan Kei I
We are deeply saddened to announce that the esteemed educator, Dr. Chan Kei I, passed away peacefully in the early hours of 28 August 2024. Dr. Chan dedicated over seventy years of his life to the cause of education in Macao. He was a true educator who cared deeply for his students and had a profound commitment to Macao. His dedication and educational philosophy have left a lasting impact on generations of people in Macao.
Throughout his life, Dr. Chan not only excelled in his teaching career but also made significant contributions to the Catholic Diocese of Macao's education affairs. He led and fostered the growth of Colégio Diocesano de São José and provided invaluable advice for the overall development of Diocesan Schools. His achievements were remarkable, and his contributions and influence were both profound and far-reaching.
In recognition of his lifelong dedication to education, Dr. Chan was awarded the “Medal of Merit for Professional Education” (Medalha de Mérito Profissional em Educação) in 1993 and the “Medal of Merit for Education” (Medalha de Mérito Educativo) in 2003 by the Macao Government. In 2022, he was also conferred an Honourary Doctoral Degree in Education by the University of Saint Joseph. These accolades bear witness to his passion and accomplishments in the field of education.
Dr. Chan's life was one of dedication, wisdom, and inspiration. He led by example, embodying the concept of lifelong learning. Even in his later years, he continued to pursue new knowledge and guided teachers to learn advanced educational concepts. His scientific approach to curriculum design, teaching reforms, and related matters made an indelible contribution to the modernisation of education in Macao.
All members and staff of the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission (Comissão Diocesana da Educação Católica, C.D.E.C) and School Managing Committees along with all leaders, teachers and students of the Diocesan Schools will forever remember Dr. Chan Kei I. May his educational philosophy, his wisdom, and his personal charisma live on in our hearts. May his educational spirit and selfless dedication continue to inspire us to move forward. May our Lord let us inherit his legacy and strive for the continued development of education in Macao.
