In his speech, the President of the Commission Reverend Bishop Stephen Lee Bun-Sang thanked both members of the third-term Commission and the Advisory Group for their acceptance of the invitation to contribute to the educational affairs of the Catholic Diocese of Macau. In addition to welcoming two new members to the Commissions, Dr. Rochelle Ge and Dr. Au Chi Kun, the Reverend Bishop also revealed to the ten Principal members and the two legal advisors of the Advisory Group that the purpose of the Group was to widely gather opinions and suggestions from frontline leaders of Catholic schools, so as to further understand the development needs in the local education sector and views on concerning policies. At the end of the speech, the Reverend Bishop reminded about the theme of the ongoing Synod of Bishops, “For a synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission”, to encourage the members of the Commission and the Advisory Group to cultivate a spirit of communion in addition to listening and speaking out, and to promote as far as possible dialogues with the society outside future meetings, in order to truly facilitate communication and co-operation between Catholic schools in Macao and the society.
