Provision of Inclusive Education Support by the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission

自二零二零/二零二一學年起，天主教澳門教區屬下全部學校都已開始提供融合教育。為更好地向上述學校提供有關融合及特殊教育的支援服務，亦為促進各校在融合及特殊教育方面的交流和合作，教區天主教教育委員會於二零二零年九月在辦事處原有架構下新設「特殊教育發展小組」，專向教區屬下學校提供支援，並協助各校定期籌組相關校本培訓及交流活動。

All the Diocesan Schools in Macao have joined to provide inclusive education by the academic year of 2020/2021. In order to facilitate a smooth transition and aid the Diocesan Schools in developing their inclusive and special education service, as well as to promote collaboration and experience sharing among the said schools concerning inclusive and special education, the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission has set up the new "Special Education Development Team" under its existing office structure in September 2020, with the specific purpose of providing support to the Diocesan Schools, and assisting them in organising school-based teachers’ training and exchange activities on a regular basis.

小組初期所提供的支援主要有「融合教育入校支援服務」及「手語雙語教育支援服務」兩個範疇，前者服務內容包括協助學校成立資源小組、入校參與資源小組會議、入校協助處理學生情況、以及協助開展小組教育活動等；而後者服務內容包括為學校老師提供手語專業培訓、支援聾健老師協作教學、支援學校管理層推行手語教育、推動全校參與融合教育發展、為聾童家長提供專業建議及諮詢、為聾生提供語言評估。

In the current phase, services provided by the team focus mainly on two areas, namely "Inclusive Education On-site Support" and "Sign Language Co-enrolment Education Support". Scopes of service of the former area include consultation and assistance in formation a resource team for schools, on-site participation of resource team meetings, on-site assistance in processing student cases, assistance in developing small group educational activities; of the latter area include provision of professional sign language training to teachers in school, on-site co-teaching support for deaf and hearing teachers, support for school management in regards of implementing sign language co-enrolment scheme, promotion of inclusive education development across the whole school, provision of professional advices to the parents of deaf and hearing-impaired children, provision of language assessment for deaf and hearing-impaired students.
